The Data Analyst plays a key role in supporting business intelligence initiatives by working with organizational and operational data to develop metrics, reports, dashboards, and KPIs. This role collaborates with multiple departments, including Underwriting, Quality Assurance, Finance & Accounting, People & Culture, and others, to identify data needs and create reporting solutions that support operational decision-making and performance management. Additionally, the Data Analyst will build integrated data sets and data cubes to facilitate cross-functional reporting and analysis across the organization.
What does the Data Analyst do?
- Assist in the development of metrics, reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support operational decision-making and performance management across departments.
- Work closely with teams such as Underwriting, Quality Assurance, Finance & Accounting, People & Culture, and Business Development to understand data requirements and develop tailored reporting solutions.
- Assist departments in identifying key performance metrics and developing reporting frameworks that drive business insights and improvements in performance management.
- Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, providing actionable insights from organizational and operational data.
- Build and maintain dynamic dashboards that allow for easy tracking of key business metrics and performance indicators across departments.
- Work with internal systems to integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring that it is accurately represented and accessible for reporting and analysis.
- Create and manage data cubes to support cross-departmental analysis and reporting needs, allowing for greater flexibility and speed in accessing complex data sets.
- Perform detailed analysis on operational and organizational data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of data used in reporting, conducting regular data quality checks to ensure reliability of business intelligence outputs.
- Facilitate the creation of cross-functional reports that combine data from various departments, enabling holistic analysis and decision-making.
- Assist other departments with data-driven analysis, helping them to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and data collection processes, recommending improvements to increase efficiency and reduce redundancy.
- Engage with other BI team members to ensure alignment on data projects and collaborate effectively on larger reporting and analysis initiatives.
- Support the implementation and adherence to data governance standards, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work with the BI team to implement and optimize business intelligence tools and platforms, such as Power BI and Tableau, to enhance reporting capabilities.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in an understandable way to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to identify issues and challenges in data and reporting processes, offering creative solutions to resolve them.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and evolving data requirements, supporting ongoing BI initiatives.
- Ability to understand the needs of internal stakeholders and provide data solutions that address their specific requirements.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role.
- Proven experience working with business intelligence tools and platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar.
- Experience with developing reports, dashboards, and KPIs for operational decision-making in a business environment is an asset.
- Familiarity with data integration, data warehousing, and ETL processes is an asset.
